Hello, I am a big seller on Vinted who has never had any issues with a personal account (except recently). I recently switched to a professional account because Vinted detected commercial sales on my account.
So, from now on, I sell second-hand items in a very specific niche, but Vinted keeps sending me this warning message (Commercial sales) indicating that my account will be blocked next time…
However, other people on Vinted sell the same items as me with a personal account and make dozens of sales per day without any issues. I can’t understand the reasons for my future blocking when I follow the rules. Could it be due to mass reports from my main competitor? I have the impression that Vinted is currently trying to get rid of everyone who makes too much turnover…
Regarding the reports, you need to request a copy of your data and you will be able to see it.
The problem may also stem from the fact that you list your products as « New with/without tag » or mention it in the description because, as a reminder, you cannot exceed the 5% quota for new items.
Indeed, after downloading, I see a wave of reports for ‹ mass selling ›, etc… So after my descriptions etc. are clean, I see this option. I have the identity of the person who must surely be behind this, maybe a friendly message…
Beware of hasty conclusions, there are also groups on social networks organizing to target pro accounts by organizing waves of reports that make the bot boil, which closes the accounts.
Especially since you don’t have the person’s name on your report file
And I’m wondering, my report about mass selling on a « Pro » account, I think it should be taken into account, or am I the one who is lost? You are pro « No commercial sales » « no mass sales » so in the end what’s the point of being pro in their logic
Oh dear, unfortunate!
Educate yourself well because on Etsy you cannot sell just anything and in any way, and a professional seller on Etsy cannot resell. It’s about selling creations, and as a professional, you may be asked to provide proof that you are indeed the one making the products, so photos of your workshop, tools, etc.
Hello, same problem here. Last week I downloaded my personal data and indeed; a lot of reports for « mass selling » too. Some reports were not taken into account, and others came exactly when I was republishing articles, which led to a temporary block of 7 days. The next one will be permanent, so since then, I haven’t published anything on my Vinted.
Today, I re-downloaded my data to see if I was still being reported after 20 days without publishing, and no, no more reports. But I don’t dare to post anything anymore, because my publications are clean, never « new » etc., so I don’t know what mistake I’m making… This feeling of powerlessness
And yes, no idea, maybe by having an account with specific spelling could fool those who are trying to report via the username (e.g., putting a capital i instead of an L…). It’s a real shame to be blocked because of a few people…
I had that at the beginning of my activity. Keep it small and start again slowly.
Don’t hesitate to clear your cookies, they work quite well with that. Once everything is cleared, do some ultra-safe activity (only real second-hand items, no bot usage, not too many ads…).
just delete the cookies from your browser. Basically, there is information about your activity with the site that the bot can use. But you can reset it.
I had problems at one point doing basic operations. They told me I was going too fast and therefore must be a bot, even though I was doing normal operations myself. I deleted the cookies, used my phone for internet connection to change my IP, did some clean operations again (no Clemz, only new ads and second-hand items) and since then, no more problems.
Hello, I’m writing because I have the exact same problem with abusive reports even though I follow the rules! I managed to get my GDPR data, but I can’t identify the person reporting me… I read that you were able to identify them, could you please tell me how to do it? Thank you very much in advance
Same here, dozens of reports and my account blocked three times in less than a month. In their last message they clearly told me that next time the account would be permanently blocked.
For me, the reports started when I switched my account to a professional account, before that I had never had this kind of problem.
Hello everyone, I have the same problem here, it’s frustrating. I feel like it’s impossible to really know CONCRETELY what « commercial sales » and « mass sales » mean. I’m sharing my story (a bit long lol, sorry for the wall of text):
I’m reaching out to you because I need your advice.
I recently managed to recover my account, and after some investigation, the sanctions were mainly due to:
Sales of a commercial nature
Duplicate listings (e.g., packs of 5 boosters and 10 boosters for the same series)
Since then, I’ve made several adjustments:
I now publish only one type of listing per series (10-packs only)
I list all my items as very good condition (VGC)
I regularly download my data (every 2-3 days) to check for any reports
I’m mindful of my posting frequency (4 to 5 listings per day maximum, without modifying too many listings at once)
Despite this, I just saw that I received a new report for « commercial sales / mass sales », even though I hadn’t had any since early February…
I admit it’s quite frustrating, especially since it’s very difficult to get precise information about what this actually covers.
I have a lead:
When I sell a lot of 10 boosters, I then republish a similar listing with the same photos and a very similar description.
I wonder if this could be interpreted as mass selling.
So, in your opinion:
Can varying the photos and descriptions with each publication reduce the risks?
Is alternating with other types of items (figurines, manga, comics…) between two booster listings a good strategy?
I’m really trying to stay within the rules, and I absolutely do not want to lose my account again.
If any of you have already encountered this type of report, I would be very grateful for your feedback and advice.
Thank you very much for your help
I wish you an excellent day
To put it simply, they don’t want sellers who source from wholesalers, meaning with new items, in multiple copies and variations, etc. That’s why you don’t see major retailers on Vinted.
Hello, I wrote to Vinted asking for a human review of my case, stating that I was likely reported by an abusive competitor whom I would also like to report, but I received a response from a bot despite my attached documents and my request for a human review. It’s unbelievable that we can’t get in touch with a human! Furthermore, the Vinted Pro rules clearly state « sale of items for commercial purposes (only authorized for professional sellers) » which we are! I don’t understand how we can be reported when we are professionals! It’s high time Vinted did something to help professionals who are being abused like us! Unfortunately, they don’t want to listen…
