On Vinted, you need portrait photos in 2:3 format ![]()
Indeed, I take all my photos in portrait mode and I place the item vertically.
It’s Vinted that asks for portrait photos, not Klems ![]()
Hello,
For a few days now, I’ve earned the « Dressing au top » badge for adding 3 or more items (not re-published). I feel like my items are favorited more often (+ more notifications) and I’m getting suggestions, as if this badge increases the visibility of people who post new items.
I had stopped doing favorite exchanges via Clemz, but not view exchanges. And I regularly republished my items. I haven’t republished since earning the badge. Perhaps you lose it if you do it too often without adding new items at the same time.
Here’s what is said about the badge:
Thanks for your opinion! We’re discussing it here: Badge Dresing au top sur Vinted - #17 par Girlz ![]()
As written, the badge progress decreases if an ad is deleted, and when an ad is re-uploaded with clemz, it deletes the old ad.
I thought that with the holiday season, my sales would pick up again but nothing at all (and this despite the top dressing badge). Is it the same on your end?
It’s disheartening ![]()
Not me, it’s been very good since October. I just missed the last good days of Christmas a bit because I was very sick and had to stop.
Is it you with the same username on Vinted? As it is, I can’t really help you because you sell different things than me (even though I’m very rock too
) and so I don’t know much, but I already don’t think there’s a presentation problem.
Regarding me, I’ve never sold as much as I did this December, and I received many offers, as well as direct purchases without negotiation.
I don’t repost often because I’ve noticed that most purchases happen on weekends, so I focus my posts on Saturday and Sunday.
An observation that might help: when I post an announcement for a new item (published for the first time), I’ve noticed that I immediately get a lot of favorites and offers on older items, as if Vinted boosts the entire wardrobe with each new item posted.
Furthermore, I’ve chosen not to use the views and favorites offered by Clemz anymore because, for me, it has no added value other than misleading me about the item’s true visibility. I now content myself with just reposting…
Thank you for your feedback and especially to Clovis for his insightful observations.
I will try to republish mainly on weekends.
Hello Clovis,
I’m taking this message as a starting point: Visibility is measured more by impressions… visible via smart dressing.
I mainly use views, which allow me to quickly increase impressions… to sell. No issues here either, I also sold quite well! As much or even more during the week than on the weekend.
Hello @Lucile,
I’m talking about my personal experience!
Neither Clemz’s views nor favorites have any impact on the algorithm or the buyer. I’ve tested pretty much all scenarios, which confirm my findings.
I think Vinted’s algorithm can spot fake views and fake favorites.
Regarding favorites, I initially thought it might influence buyers, but I’ve changed my mind.
Those who want a product don’t care if it has many views or favorites.
I’ve bought items (coat, shoes, DVDs, etc.), they had less than 10 views and 0 favorites.
For me, the number of views and favorites doesn’t impact my decision to buy, and I’ve often noticed this with many buyers.
As for smart-dressing, I don’t have time to look at it, and for my part, I don’t see the usefulness or benefit of looking at impressions; I prefer to directly see the visibility (number of views) when I go to my Vinted closet.
That said, I’m not questioning the usefulness of Clemz. Without the app, I would have undoubtedly given up on reselling my things.
Reposting articles definitely boosts them, increases the probability of them being sold, and saving them is a huge asset.
And even if I don’t use Clemz very often, at least not as much as some, I think it’s an extraordinary tool and not at all expensive, considering the work behind it.
Hello Clovis,
I’m not questioning your opinion and experience ![]()
Impressions are also the measure of « visibility » used by Vinted when highlighting an item via a « Showcase Wardrobe ».
Having done several tests, views allow a « boost » of visibility… but I agree with you: buyers genuinely interested in an item don’t care about the number of favorites on the item.
Personally Lucile, I find no use for impressions.
Impressions are the number of times my listings are likely to be seen, because they appear in a Vintie’s search. But knowing that brings me nothing. Because there are hundreds/thousands of listings appearing in that search, and most will never be opened.
For me, the only measure of my visibility is the number of views of my items, by the number of times they could be seen.
And like Clovis, I don’t feel that Clemz increases the number of views of my items.
But like him, I really appreciate the ability Clemz gives to save and re-publish my listings. It’s very valuable.
Hello Helene2484,
If your impressions are low, it’s an indicator on your listing that it’s not a highly sought-after item: it’s likely to take some time to sell.
Conversely, if your impressions are high but your views are not, that should set off alarm bells: either the price is too high, the title doesn’t match and/or is too general, or there’s an issue with the photos that don’t make it appealing enough, etc.
It’s still an interesting indication, provided by Vinted, to understand why an item isn’t viewed more/isn’t selling.
I understand that this is not the one you are relying on ![]()
Personally, impressions are useful to me as a professional. Because when I try something new, it allows me to see how it reacts when I place ads and therefore potentially stock up while it’s still with my supplier if I see that it matches well.
As for weekend sales, yes, that’s often the case, but it’s not a hard and fast rule. I’ve had weekends that were duds and, on the other hand, had great weeks. In fact, since it’s random, you have to be active all the time so that at the end of the month it balances out. And take advantage of the quieter days to organize your stock, take photos, etc. …
biggest month of the year. 130 sales to date since December 1st
Favorites are a super powerful sales acceleration tool. On my « expensive » products (35 euros ++) I try to accumulate favorites and on Friday evening I do a first price reduction: all « potential » customers receive it! Almost immediate result, repeat on Saturday evening and Sunday evening (the 3 biggest moments of the week for me) another reduction. Generally, I sell 60 to 80% of the stock like that.
Lucile, allow me to disagree: my impressions are always high, and that only means one thing: that there are more than 500 replies to each search, and that Vinties only open the most recent ones. Nothing to do with the quality of my listings or the price.
And with 400,000 new listings per day, that’s not about to change.
(Again, this does not detract from the usefulness of Clemz as a storage and republishing tool).
Hello @helene2484,
I think you are making a mistake about impressions.
When a buyer searches, only the first 100 items from the search are displayed on the first search results page. Even if the search contains 500+ items.
An impression == the item was displayed on the search results page, among the 100 items on the page.
So indeed, sometimes it’s at the top, sometimes it’s at the bottom, but not among thousands, among the 100 displayed on the page.
On average, we can consider that your item was seen by the buyer at least every 2-3 impressions.
This is why we are doing the analysis with Lucile: if impressions are high but sales are not, it means people are not clicking on the item. We need to understand why.
