Yes, alas, I don’t think you saw the new measure… buying/reselling is hugely impacted
The other concern is that we risk having a large recall from last year, while no longer having any activity, and not being entitled to any aid (unemployment, RSA, bonus).
Triple consequence.
For me, it goes beyond stopping work, it’s the fear of ending up on the street.
I think the vast majority of those concerned are unaware. ALL companies with VAT exemption are concerned. (except those below 25,000 obviously, for the moment)
Yes, indeed. I saw that the measure has been postponed to June. I have an appointment with an accountant at the end of April. I will see what would be the best status if this new law is not repealed.
Yes, it’s clear that this lowering of thresholds completely changes the balance… Personally, I had to review everything, especially my way of calculating margins. And soon we’ll have the electronic invoicing reform, that will be something too…
Hello,
I am not a professional. I just want to say « Good luck to all » for these changes that will impact your income and living conditions.
I hope for you that the government will back down. Courage…
Hello
Apparently, lowering the VAT threshold for self-employed/micro-businesses would be postponed to the next budget, so 1 year of respite!
Yes, but if in January they validate at 25K, including for those who exceeded it the previous year (so 2025), as they wanted to do this year (retroactivity N-1), all those who will have exceeded the threshold of 25K will switch to VAT from the first euro in 2026, so not much respite in the end.
Either stay below to be safe, or try to exceed 25K hoping that the new threshold decided in January will be above the turnover we will have made…
Yes, the law is always written so…
What’s annoying is that we can’t plan ahead.
Before, we fought to gain rights; now, we struggle not to lose them.
It looks complicated for them, they are trying to pass the buck.
Given Lombard’s response, it’s increasingly leaning towards the construction industry which would take a hit, but others would be left alone.
I think they will proceed classically, by choosing a reason or sector arbitrarily, here construction, to start with.
It’s the Overton window.
Getting an inconceivable idea into people’s heads, here lowering or even eliminating the VAT threshold. And that’s done. It explains the latency of the responses, people who doubt, it also generates fear, which prevents cognitive functions from being active.
For this, we proceed step by step, initially taking a reason that makes no sense (Unfair competition in the construction sector).
Now the idea of this reduction is accepted by everyone, it has entered as a possibility, where it was inconceivable.
Then the implementation.
Step by step they will do it. Construction, then gradually other sectors, slice by slice.
Digital invoice, then digital euro.
A classic of psychological strategy.
European construction was done like this.
