Legal action guide for sellers blocked by technical failures in Vinted Pro registration (✅Resolved June 8, 2026)

Hello everyone. I’m writing this post to share the roadmap I followed after getting stuck in an absurd loop with Vinted. I’ve identified a specific technical glitch that seems to mainly affect sellers in Spain (individuals/self-employed) and that standard support is unable to resolve.

The problem is as follows: Vinted blocks your account, citing commercial activity, and urges you to become a Pro account, but their registration gateway constantly gives an error: « We haven’t found the NIF you entered. » This happens even if your VAT number is 100% legal and active.

If you are in this situation, here are the steps to escalate the case legally:

1. Gathering Proof of Validity

Vinted often claims your NIF is incorrect. To prove they are lying, you need:

  • VIES Certificate: Go to the European Commission website and verify your VAT number. If it says « Valid, » take a screenshot.

  • MangoPay Validation: Contact their support. If they have validated you but Vinted’s website has not, the fault lies exclusively with Vinted’s software.

  • Error Screenshot: Take a picture of the error message when entering the NIF on Vinted.

2. Final Warning to the Technical Team (Not General Support)

Don’t waste time with appeal bots. Use the specific help form for Vinted Pro. Send a concise, technical message:

  • Attach screenshots of VIES and MangoPay.

  • Mention that the error is on their platform and that they are preventing you from complying with their own Terms and Conditions.

  • Give them a deadline (e.g., 72 hours) before taking legal action.

3. Official Complaint to the Ministry (Spain)

If you receive another generic response, the internal route is exhausted. As this is a problem affecting Spanish users, I have escalated the situation to the competent body in Spain: the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA).

  • Procedure: Procedure 138 of the Electronic Headquarters (LSSI Complaints).

  • Legal Basis: Regulation (EU) 2019/1150 (P2B). This regulation requires platforms to be transparent and resolve technical conflicts that prevent a professional from accessing the market.

  • The Argument: Vinted imposes a condition (being Pro) that its own flawed software prevents you from meeting, resulting in an arbitrary block and economic damage.

4. Complaint Registration

Once submitted, the Ministry will give you an Official Registration Number. This is no longer a « complaint, » it is an open administrative file against the platform.

Final Note: I’ve noticed that this NIF error seems to be a bug in their database with Spanish formats. Don’t give up; if many of us report the same technical failure to the Ministry, they will be forced to fix the system once and for all.

I hope this guide helps you stop wasting time with the support chat!

Great guide, David! I have the same issue in Belgium (Antwerp). My postal code 2100 is forced to ‹ Deurne › by Vinted, creating a mismatch with my official company documents (SRL/BV). I am sending registered letters to Vinted Brussels and Lithuania today, citing the P2B Regulation as you suggested. Let’s keep the pressure on!

Thank you so much for sharing this, I think it will help many people :folded_hands:

Hello everyone, Clemz colleagues.

I’m starting this thread to share some great news with you and, above all, to provide you with a detailed guide on how I managed to get Vinted to unblock my account and finally allow me to switch to a Professional profile after months of fighting, frustration, and automated blocks by their bots.

If you’re trapped in the « account blocked for commercial activity » loop and their automated responses prevent you from moving forward or speaking to a real person, this is for you. The solution wasn’t to keep insisting with their technical support, but to take legal action with the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA), which is the body responsible in Spain for enforcing the new Digital Services Act (DSA).

Here are the exact steps of the process:

:bookmark_tabs: 1. The reason for the complaint (DSA Infringement)

Vinted blocked my account en masse and automatically upon detecting my sales volume. When I tried to regularize the situation to switch to a Professional account, the platform left me in a loop of absolute helplessness: decisions were made by an algorithm, and complaints were answered by bots with generic templates.

The Digital Services Act (DSA) expressly protects users against this, obliging large platforms to offer an accessible, transparent complaint management system that, above all, has supervision and qualified human personnel (not just bots), in addition to providing a clear justification for their moderation decisions.

:memo: 2. Evidence gathering

Before processing anything, I saved absolutely all the history in PDF format:

  • Screenshots of the block and the system’s automated messages.

  • All emails sent to technical support trying to resolve the situation.

  • The automatic responses from their bots, which demonstrated that no human was reviewing the case.

:balance_scale: 3. Filing the complaint with SEDIA

Through the Ministry’s Electronic Headquarters (using a digital certificate), I filed a formal complaint with the State Secretariat for Digitalization and Artificial Intelligence (SEDIA). In the grounds for the complaint, I clearly stated that Vinted was violating its DSA obligations by applying restrictions purely automatically and systematically denying the right to a real and effective human review to resolve the conflict.

:tada: The result: PRO account activated

The intervention and pressure from the regulatory authority (SEDIA) took effect just one month later. Vinted was forced to review the case manually, reverse the automated block, and correctly and officially process my migration to a Professional account. I can now operate with complete regularity and legal peace of mind.

Large platforms act like untouchable giants with their algorithms, but the DSA gives us real tools to defend ourselves if we go to the right authority. If any of you are suffering a similar ordeal with unjustified blocks on Vinted or endless bot responses, I encourage you to use the SEDIA route.

If you have any questions about the steps or the approach to the complaint, ask me in the comments, and I’ll help you out!

Hi Davide,

Awesome post. I have the same problem currently, but In Portugal.

Im in this absurd loop. I have been blocked permanently now for commercial selling, but when i want to convert an account, The NIF is always giving an error. I have tried setting up a new account, same result.

I have tried to provide extra information and documents, but only getting standard messages back

I have even tried messaging people in my network that work at vinted via LinkedIn, but without success.

any help you can offer?

In reality, everything I can help with is in the post. Also, I found a solution from Spain, since the Secretary of State is a Spanish organization. I would look for something similar in Portugal and escalate what’s happening to you from there. Good luck!
