Vinted is starting to tire me out, how about you?

Humans have a boundless imagination for ripping off their neighbors!!!

Continuation of the story. While I naturally blocked this buyer, I discovered that on LBC, this does not prevent them from making a purchase! Well, now, they are no longer discussing the price at all and paying for shipping is no longer an obstacle. But it’s too late, I no longer trust them, I anticipate there will be a dispute or something. I prefer to refuse the sale.

[an hour later] And the guy created a new LBC account to try to buy again. They really want this book, too bad they weren’t honest from the start.

I second that regarding lengthy buyer messages. Today, just on eBay, I had a buyer immediately offer me -40% on 7 items via private message, playing « fair game Â» with their seller experience and reminding me of the platform’s commission fees, as well as the existence of a supposed -30% cash weekend. I made sure to remind them that I am registered as a professional, and that their 13.8% commission was very far off the mark when adding social security contributions, taxes (secondary activity so 8% even after deduction), the cost of the cardboard packaging, travel expenses (I live in the countryside), etc.
He still managed to include in his initial offer, « I’m talking to you as I’d like to be spoken to, Â» apparently he likes being spat on:rofl:

To talk about eBay, I just had my second sale in a year (yay). But the buyer chose a personal handover, and is giving no sign of life. A classic technique on eBay, for example if it’s to make a competitor’s listing disappear?

a classic, the one who complains about prices being too expensive while being completely out of touch with their own wardrobe and managing to say « yeah, but at least I can negotiate. Â» I love it, especially when they already have the item they want to buy from me for sale, but much more expensive.

Yes, blocking on LBC is useless.

So on eBay, it’s simple, I don’t even reply. Since you can configure offers, if I wanted to receive them, I would activate them. But it’s still very rare that I get them via private message.

This is what I should have done, after three days of back and forth, I ended up refunding him and blocking him, he would go into victim monologues while explaining to me that I was bad at my business, a real lunatic.

ah, the platform sales business professors, my favorites.

Wouldn’t there be a well-known animal name in English in its name and a rating number less than 10? It may be that we were dealing with the same person

No, it was actually a user with exclusively positive reviews, so there you go.

I have many low-priced items on Vinted.

I like to bring people who negotiate items under €5 back to reality.

The Dutch, I tell them their reputation is not unearned

The others, I use the rat emoji or make them realize they’re annoying me for less than the price of a coffee

hello - Where they would do well to copy eBay is when an offer is accepted, it is automatically turned into a sale. It’s too annoying to have these offers that you accept and that are forgotten.

People who haggle over things under €5, I like to confront them with reality.

There’s a playful aspect to asking for a discount, regardless of the amount. A hormonal reward, for sure, every time, and probably the same whether it’s for €1, €10, or €100.

Doesn’t responding with rationality miss the point
?

The Dutch, I tell them their reputation is not undeserved

Hmm
That risks an immediate permanent ban, doesn’t it?

You have to do it subtly. There’s a furious Italian who told me we were a dirty country because we don’t have bidets
 He killed me

I’m letting all that go, I don’t have the energy to fight and it won’t change much.
Besides, since I stopped responding, I have fewer buyers purchasing afterwards.

I burst out laughing :joy: Thanks for the anecdote!

The first time my cousin came to France he wasn’t well because there was no bidet in the hotel  he immediately made a Facebook post to share his discomfort

Hello - In 2026 Vinted still tires me out.

A listing of a new romance category book has been under review for 24 hours

A search engine that searches for nothing: if I type the exact title of one of my listings, I can’t find it, which leads to duplicate listings. Consequence: threats

A large number of listings are created with AI, so we no longer know what we are really buying.

And yet it is the platform with the best attendance and the best sales. They could be so much better
