PRO: other selling platform vs Vinted

Hello - Speaking of large sellers, let’s talk about Ammareal, which can introduce a large number of listings for the same book (seen on LBC) and thus monopolizes the platform.

(I know this is off-topic, moderators please forgive me).

I saw Ammareal arrive on LBC about 6-9 months ago. I thought it would be the end of the world. But if my sales have dropped by 50% on this site, I think it’s mainly because there’s no quick way to re-list ads.

The existence of Ammareal shows that, contrary to what LBC claims, you can connect an API to automatically upload listings. The terms and conditions prohibit it, however. I don’t know why Momox etc. haven’t appeared on LBC too. Two hypotheses: LBC asks them for too much money; if LBC were to accept them, it would lose all its uniqueness and would no longer stand out in any way (as @anon90966608 said, a very bad idea).

Last summer, a seller named « MAX » appeared, specializing in like-new comic books, who uploaded a thousand listings a day, presumably via an API. He had acquired stock from publications a few years ago that publishers intended to pulp, and he sold his comic books at a strange price, always with two decimal places: you’d see 23 or 38 cents (in fact, he offered a 8% discount compared to the new price, without rounding). I was very surprised that such a modest discount was enough to secure thousands of sales, especially since he was extremely aggressive towards customers if they dared to ask for a discount, had non-existent customer service, and incredibly long waiting times. But after 2-3 months, LBC banned him. He tried to create a similar account a few weeks ago, and LBC struck again within days.

Rakuten allows APIs. After that, you naturally need a developer to design them. Recyclelivres and Momox probably have the most sophisticated ones, with daily checks of competitor prices to automatically adjust their own. They also have to manage the consistency of their stock across multiple sites (Rakuten, eBay, Amazon, their own site…).

If you look closely, you’ll also notice that their prices are completely different from one site to another for the same book, with Recyclelivres being the champion of scams, offering the same item for €599 on one site and €100 on another. A seller who is all the more annoying because his level of greenwashing is astonishing.

Very interesting though, so why not open a specific topic??

That’s the way forums are, discussions branch off and drift. I’ll let it be – but I’m not a moderator. Sometimes moderation takes all the messages from a sub-topic and makes it a specific thread, but that’s a bit of a tedious manual operation.

Yes, it’s true that we’re getting off the original topic

From my experience with forums, going off-topic is life  it’s often from that that the most interesting conversations start

Very interesting, thank you

There is a PC extension to republish your Leboncoin ads in 1 click. The only thing it asks you again is the price. Well, you still have to do it one by one, but you don’t need to do 150 steps again :joy:

It’s Leboncoin Relister (it’s free, no account needed, it directly adds a small « republish » button in the details of your Leboncoin ads

I just tested it, it’s super effective, a good surprise. Especially since it’s a platform where I really can’t be bothered to redo the ads. We’ll see if it has an impact

Hello, I tested the extension on an article. I got an error message (twice). And this evening I tested it on another one and it worked :+1:.

On the first article I redid it and I got this error. Do you know what it corresponds to?

I had these errors on old listings because LBC has added new fields since then. For example, for music, there is a CD / Vinyl field, which did not exist before. The listing must be to the new standard for republication to work.

Thanks Faun, I’ll compare the fields. It’s a recent ad but jewelry, it might be a bit different.

Hello, since last Sunday the extension has no longer been working for me, I’m getting the Adcraft 403 error.

Is anyone else in my situation?

Thanks in advance for your answers
