Hello, has this happened to anyone when they open a new account and the last one gets blocked immediately?
Hello,
what is the reason for the block?
Recent activities going against the terms but it is new the account has not even been activated yet
Yes, it happens quite often now, especially since Vinted stepped up its automatic anti-multi-account and anti-fraud detection.
Even a newly created account can be blocked immediately if the system detects elements already associated with a previous restricted or monitored account:
-
same phone
-
same IP / Wi-Fi connection
-
same device
-
same address
-
same IBAN
-
same photos
-
same descriptions
-
or activity deemed “abnormal” within the first few minutes.
Sometimes the block is also automatic pending a KYC/security check, especially if several listings are posted quickly after account creation.
I haven’t posted anything directly, blocking and everything is different
Hello,
it’s crazy, they keep and use our data against us. Do you know if it’s possible to have all our personal, digital, and textual information deleted?.
There is still consumer protection and privacy, right?.
Have a nice day.
Hello,
Yes, in Europe you normally have rights under the GDPR: the right of access, erasure, restriction, and objection to the processing of personal data.
You can already officially ask Vinted for:
• all the data they have on you
• deletion of non-mandatory data
• deletion of the account and associated data
• information on the retention of logs and histories
However, you should be aware that a platform can legally retain certain data for several years for legal, tax, security, fraud prevention, or judicial reasons. Therefore, “total deletion” is rarely guaranteed in practice.
Internal logs, moderation histories, IP addresses, devices used, or old listings may sometimes be retained even after account deletion, especially if the platform deems there have been security checks or reports.
If you believe your data is being used improperly or disproportionately, you can also:
• make a formal written GDPR request
• ask for the origin and exact use of the retained data
• contact the CNIL (National Commission for Information Technology and Civil Liberties) if the response seems abusive or incomplete
In general, platforms become much more serious when a formal GDPR request is properly sent with references to the relevant GDPR articles.
