Request cancellation for suspected scam

This is the first time I’m coming here to share a problem I’m having with a Vinted purchase.

To explain the situation, on February 27, 2026, I fell for a dress after a brief exchange with the seller. The dress in question was around fifty euros.

While waiting for the shipment, I continued my search and saw that the same seller had put up for sale a dress identical in every way to the one I had bought earlier, but with a different model for the photo, which I suspect was made by AI (I note that it is a private profile indicating they are reselling old, pre-worn items). After a reverse image search, I also realized that the model actually comes from AliExpress and is sold for just under thirty euros.

Embarrassed about being scammed, I still asked for the sale to be canceled (at this point, the initial shipping deadline had passed), indicating that the behavior seemed suspicious. Not only was my request ignored and the package sent, but the seller also blocked me on the platform.

Can you tell me if I can refuse this package and get a refund because it’s not the product I expected? I plan to contact customer service, but do you have any tips to ensure my request will be heard?

The best thing for you to do is not collect the package and calmly wait for it to be returned to your seller. This will take an additional two to three weeks, but that is the method.

Above all, do not collect your package, or you will not get out of it.

There is no need to inform the seller of anything, other than « Sorry, I could not collect the package. Let me know when it is returned to you so I can buy it again. »

Same answer as Faune. Definitely do not go to pick up the package. It will be returned and you will be refunded.
